CTE Child Care Labs
Our Philosophy
The Education and Training Department operates a full-time, on-site Child Care Lab in conjunction with the Early Child Education curriculum. We believe there is a critical need to prepare high school students with adequate knowledge and skills regarding appropriate child care techniques for both home and future careers in early childhood education.
Our objective is to provide daily a balance of reading readiness, math, science, exploration time, circle time, activity time, play time and nap/rest time. The care is provided by a qualified manager and accompanying adult assistants. In addition, high school students participate in the child care program. These students have either completed a successful year in our preschool program or have completed one semester of child development class.
There are four types of child care organizations in the state of Utah. The Child Care Labs in Jordan School District are classified as “Centers” per state guidelines. Each lab has different ratio guidelines depending on the classification of the "daycare." Our commitment is to provide a caring, clean and safe environment.
