CTE News and Updates

Fort Herriman Middle School took 25 CTE students on a tour of Kenworth in West Valley. We saw the sales, service, parts, and collision repair divisions of the company.
Two weeks before the field trip, guest speakers from Geneva Rock and Kenworth came to Fort Herriman and met with these students to talk about the diesel pathway and industry.
Special thanks to Jacob Cope - Fort Herriman Middle School CTE Coordinator.

Stay tuned as we will be seeing Alex, Zachary, and Caden, competing in round 2 of the competition this February 2025. Good Luck!

Our CTE Coordinators proudly attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Gail Miller School of Business at SLCC on Friday, November 8th.  This marks the opening of Utah's first business school named after a woman and one of the few nationwide!
We celebrate this historic milestone and are thrilled to support Salt Lake Community College in this endeavor. Together, we are paving the way for future leaders in business.
Jordan District stands strong with SLCC!

Medical Forensics students from Riverton and Bingham High had an incredible opportunity to engage with FBI Agents from the Evidence Retrieval department!  They listened to captivating stories and experiences shared by the agents and even got hands-on experience lifting fingerprints from various objects.
This unique learning experience provided our students with a real-world glimpse into forensic science.
A huge thank you to Trudy Pecorelli for organizing this fantastic event!

This week, Mrs. Neil's Animal Science 2 class took creativity to the next level with the Paper Dog Show!
Students researched a breed from the American Kennel Club, then crafted a life-size paper version, complete with authentic markings and characteristics.
During the event, students presented their paper pups, discussing breed characteristics, faults, and stance, just like at a real dog show!
The competition was fierce, but one student walked away with the coveted "Best in Show" ribbon!
A paws-itively amazing learning experience!
