CTE Student News and Updates

Jordan School District students met industry at the 47G Zero Gravity Summit! This year, JSD CTE made it happen—connecting students with top policymakers and global industry leaders. Thanks to our Work-Based Learning Specialist team and a powerful partnership with 47G, Utah high school Aerospace and Engineering students from across the state got rare access to reps from leading companies.
Highlights included presentations from Ben Waldrip (Duncan Aviation), Matt Piosa (Vector Drones), Congressman Blake Moore, and Hill Air Force Base. Plus a panel moderated by Edson Barton, CEO of YouScience, featuring university presidents Brad Mortensen, Shane Smeed, and Jim Taggart. Real-world impact. Real connections. Real opportunities for our students!

Special thanks to the local industry professionals for participating in today’s “From High School To Hired” event, but an even bigger thanks to our very own JSD Work-Based Learning Specialists for the hard work and consideration that went into planning such a successful event.
Students received invaluable guidance from industry professionals and WBL Specialists on resumes, interview tips & tricks, and professionalism in the workplace.

Did you know looking at a fly larva butt under a microscope was part of a high school medical forensics class? Mountain Ridge High School students in Mr. Schoenfeld’s medical forensics class are doing just that. They are looking for the number of spiracles.
